Here’s the original Tony Evans on KRIZ/Phoenix, in August of
1966. (Tony Evans should not be confused with my best friend Jim Nelson, who used the T.E. moniker on-air at various Phoenix stations throughout the 70’s and 80’s.)
The original Tony Evans dominated Phoenix PM drive for a few years in the mid ’60’s; I grew up listening to the guy  thought he was fantastic  and more than anyone else I blame him for my strange choice of radio as
a career: He always made it sound like so much fun! I can’t say his proclivity for singing along with the records ever impressed me, but at least he could never, ever be called a puker!
